Regent Vacation Club Bali Scam

The Regent Vacation Club Bali scam

A vacation hotel timeshare kind of deal based on points being marketed heavily to tourists in Bali.

Is it a scam? Yes, in the sense that it is not what it is presented as.

How does it work?

The focus of the selling is on “bonus weeks” through rci and daelive. RCI is a scam and you can check pages and pages of complaints about them at consumersaffairs.com.

The “bonus weeks” scam runs like this:

The sales associate will show you a catalogue with hundreds, even thousands of 4 and 5 star hotels that are participating in “bonus weeks”. You can stay at these 5 star hotels for between $150-399 a week subject to availability. And that’s the kicker. Because even though the salesman has just shown you thousands of 5 star hotels you can stay in for between150-399 a week, none of those hotels will ever be available for this. It’s a pure fraud. Just ask the salesman to go online now and even find one single hotel room available for bonus weeks. Not one will ever be found. [Actually, there are  some listings on the DAElive.com website for bonus weeks. Nothing like what is shown to you in the book the salesman presents though, and certainly nothing in Europe or the more economically developed countries. And of course without Regent Vacation Club this is all available to anyone for $59 per year by independently joining DAElive.com.]

Another sign of a scam is that the contract they want you to sign will say, that you agree to never cancel or ask for a refund and no refunds will ever be given. Why don’t you have them write into the contract you have up to 10 days to cancel or change your mind? They would never agree to this because they know that if you have time to check it out on the internet their little scam is over.

The legitmate part of the deal is that you are told you are buying 460 points a year to be used at one of 6 hotels for $6700. 460 points will get you approximately one week a year at their hotel. Since few people would pay that amount for one week a year that is not what the focus of the selling is on.

If you somehow got out of there with your free t-shirt congratulations. It’s a piece of crap and you will trash it but you got out cheaply. If your postcard says you won of of the other prizes it will be some worthless coupons.

If I saved you from bothering with these scammers send me a dollar or two. Paypal address: quietriotr@hotmail.com

Update: 23 March 2011

**** I think I was a bit extreme in calling RCI a scam. After doing some research it seems like you can save 10-20% on certain hotels. I have not seen any European hotels for $99-$399 per week.

The RCI weeks membership that you get with the Regent Vacation Club is available to anyone for $89 per year.

Here’s a link to pages of complaints about RCI:

http://www.consumeraffairs.com/travel/rci.html

**** The DAElive.com membership that comes with the Regent Vacation Club is available to anyone for $59 per year, first year $89.

**** Unless you just like to pay extreme prices for vacations I would still have to say Regent Vacation Club is a scam when you can get RCI and DAElive for $89 and $59 respectively per year.

About regentvacationclubscam

Don't make assumptions when someone shows you pictures of thousands of 5 star hotels you can stay in for $399 a week subject to availability. They may never be available and probably are not, at least not at that price.

I have to disagree with a lot of the so called scam comments, as I have been a member of Regent Vacation Club for almost 10 years now and I am extremely happy, I love my time at my home resort in Candidasa, which I use every year and when there I am treated like one of the family, other than that I use the extra weeks to my benefit I see what is and when is available and just simply book it as long as i can be a little flexible i have never had an issue. My son recently got married in Bali and through my membership we booked our accommodation for a large family and friend party with no problems at all.
My husband and I have recently returned from a 6 week tour of Europe which by far has been our holiday of a life time with many many more to come. At the same time we were in Europe had a 6 week fly & cruise from Hawaii to Alaska and loved every minute of it.

Well,RCI is part of the largest holiday company in the world,Cendant corporation (Avis,Travelodge,Gulliver travel, they own all the online reservation systems you’re using to book a flight,a car,or a room).I’ve been a member since 1995 and I did travel to Canary Islands ,Spain,France,French West Indies,Thailand,Singapore,Malaysia,Bali, andI’m very happy about it because, instead of staying in a small hotel room,I get a suite with a living room and a kitchenette where we can make food for baby!
    Have a nice holiday!

Considering The Hotel chain Wyndham own RCI, this proves that this was written by a very stupid Timeshare Rep……..

You were not being harsh when you called it a scam. My husband and I are not dumb people. When we got scammed, a western looking, sophisticated man by the name of Trevor D Lynch, came out and assured us its not a scam, and “if it was, they would loose all Australian business which they could not afford to do.” Well since then, we’ve tried booking holidays, they can’t offer us anything. We’ve tried getting back in touch with RVC, they’re phonelines are disconnected, our membership no. won’t login to there website, and we’ve sent a number of e-mails asking them to send us options of holiday packages or return our $5000AUD, the only response we’ve got is “this contract is legally binding , no money will be refunded.” Not one word about offering what we’ve paid for. I will stand by this, I have the e-mails as written evidence, so post this EVERYWHERE, and make sure people don’t get scammed the way we did.

To Mr Abu Ali and whom it may concern,
I am in no way doubting RCI’s ability to provide what you pay for,
its strictly RVC (Regent Vacation Club) that has false advertised, and illegally sold us something they have not been able to offer.
My only option now is to go through consumer affairs to be refunded by citibank, and for citibank to launch an investigation and expose these con artists wich will lead to prosecution.
    HAPPY HOLIDAYS

    To Violet Anne Booth,
Just got back from Bali and appears now looking at all the information, we too have been scammed by RVC (Regent Vacation Club) I asked all the right questions and got all the right answers but appears now we have been scammed. I have sent RVC emails and tried ringing with no reply, I have only paid a $1,200 deposit and are wondering if you have had any luck with retreiving your money or has Citibank been able to help, I too are with Citibank and will be closing my Credit card down today.

  6. balifriend says:

Hi everybody, I would like to give you some information and advice on how to deal with a situation when you join a Timeshare or Holiday ownership company and already put down a deposit. The bad news is that you wont get back a refund of your deposit. You have signed a legal document in Indonesia (Signature through the duty stamp on your contract). So even a credit card company wont cancel your transaction. Craig is doing the only right thing to avoid future installment deductions – canceling your credit card.
The good news is that you don’t have to worry that they (Timeshare Company) coming after you. All cancellations are cash money for them. If you ever end up on a presentation like this then please do not join on the day, whatever they are telling. Mostly they try to get a deal on the day telling you that if you come back tomorrow you have to pay much more. NOT TRUE, you still could join the next days, price would be the same. In Timeshare those who join the following days are so called BEBACKS. They are coming back (sometimes).
If you have more questions or would like to get more information please visit my new website http://www.mybalitimeshare.weebly.com and (for complaints) join the Timeshare forum on the site.

    • susan says:

Is it ok to cancel my credit card or will the contract I signed the money still coming out of my other accounts?

      • balifriend says:

        Hi Susan,
When you cancel your credit card the company can’t take out any further installments from your account. I believe you only signed a contract with your actual credit card details. So if you cancel your credit card the credit card details are not longer valid for them. If they want to continue further deductions the they need your new credit card details which they don’t have.

I was approached by a salesman for this company on the street asking me to open an envelope as I had the chance to win a prize from Regent Vacation Club who were promoting their new hotels in Bali. The first ticket he opened and I had won 2 t shirts, he then asked me to open my other ticket and woo hoo I had won one of 4 prizes including AUD$1000. The sales man was a real pro, he was so excited for me. “I can’t beleive you are big winner I am so happy I will win too I am so happy. The catch… oh Mr no catch you come back to hotel and you will win one of these 4 prizes and I will get US$50 from my bossl, I am sooo happy. Repeatedly I was assured by this man that all I had to do was come back to their office and look at the new hotel to spread the word when I got home about how good the Hotel looked and then I would get my prize. Upon going back to their office and being dealt the biggest load of bull shit from some English Agent called Max I soon learnt that this was all a scam to get me to sign up for points in a time share deal. My prize, useless vouchers to use in Bali. Lucky for me I signed nothing and only lost my self resp[ect and an hour and a half of my holiday time. The saying ios true people, if it looks too god to be true then it probably is.

I have been through all that too! but I pay by direct payment into their acc so that don’t have access to my cc. But on a positive note I have booked two weeks in Queensland by ringing the RCI australian office for cheap deals which you can do with your automatic membership. I pd $399 for 3 bedroom unit and $330 for 1 bedroom. Very cheap for 14 day holiday. I plan on getting my monies worth by using the RCI membership but through office here. I have problem with them (Regent Hols) answering my emails also ,but I got 2 bonus weeks in first year but I gather that is all I get for my $6500. I have already stayed at The Ivory which was great.

  8. Violet Anne Booth says:

    To Dear Craig,
We contacted citi bank 2 days after we signed up with RVC, so under Australian laws, all transactions have 3 days to clear, just in case someone stole your card and all personal liability is void. When we got to citi bank, spoke to an uneducated middle eastern man who told me citi banks procedure was to allow the transaction, then take up a dispute claim, which may be legal in places like America, but to not allow us to close the account so RVC could recieve an “insufficient funds” notice instead of our $5098, I belive to be unfair. Citi bank will quote their procedures and try bully you like their doing to us right now. We went through this in July for citi bank to launch an investigation, last week they sent us a copy of the contract we signed with RVC,(which wasn’t our dispute, we never denied signing it), and said we not only owed the $, but tried to back date interest!! LOL. Now we had to sign a form and forward all the emails we sent to Lendra (RVC), and Trevor D Lynch (RVC), begging them to send me a holiday package in Italy, Rome OR Melbourne for travel dating before 2016, they didn’t/couldn’t do it. Citi bank has now made it their problem. If they had closed our account like we requested, then it would of been RVC’s job to take us to court to get the money, (lol, considering their a pure scam, and they would of had a hard time proving in any court room that they can give what they offered). I believe this would be happening to you to. If big banks want to bully people like us, I suggest we join forces and go to the media. If anyone from citi bank had any business ethics, they’d know nothing stronger than the media, and its worth their while to do the right thing by their clients.
IGNORE BaliFriend, he obviously works for some holiday club. My email address is

People please come after me for deformation, every word about every instance I’ve spoken and written is true and correct and sadly all actual events.

I was also scammed in October 2011. I cancelled my credit card and no further payments have been taken out. I have a question for any one who might know, will this create problems for coming back to Bali?

    • emc4444 says:

To answer the question direct, yes it can cause a problem, they are willing to pay people to get names of people arriving, and it has been known for people to come knocking on your door asking for money….SO BE WARNED

      • Well basically “anything” “could” cause a problem. Let me know if you hear about any official
Bali government interference in the matter though. If any government started stopping people at their border because someone claims to be owed money there would be no international tourism.

  12. sagi1963 says:

Just a followup, when I read the reprots on line, I asked for names of people in Australia who i could talk to to verify their claims. I was sent a pdf of a what looked like a of emails praising the staff etc however, when I asked for actual contact details, nothing arrived… This was back in early December. I’m still waiting

  14. susan says:

Can you please tell me if the phone number they gave you got through to them? also did you have access to the RVC site as they never gave me one they only gave me dealive and promised RCI membership never got access to that either

  15. Kim says:

    Hi everyone,

Firstly, thank you very much for sharing your information, you have saved me alot of money.

Today at the markets a man stopped me and told me I had won a prize, I went to the head office which is at a hotel in Kuta, and sat through the presentation for about 21/2 hours which sounded very enticing. They tried to get a deposit of $4,000 from me which I didn’t have. The company seemed to be very legitimate and at the time I did not think it was a scam. So I signed a contract agreeing to pay $2,000 deposit by the end of the month, and the equivalent of $12,000 in two years. The salesman took mine and my husbands passport details, my credit card details, and a photo of my family.

However, when I asked to see the RVC constitution which is referred to in the terms of agreement, the Sales Manager became quite irate and told me I couldn’t have it until I had paid 50% of the $14,000. I pressed further for the constitution and was told that it was full of company jargon that I wouldn’t understand. I pressed further for the constitution and was told I could have a copy tomorrow.

We also asked if there was a cooling off period and were told that the contract was legally binding upon signing but not to worry as this is typical of Indonesia. All the finer details relating to the benefits we gain for our money, and how we go about accessing these benefits was quickly brushed over.

After the contract was signed we were given $150,000 IDR to spend at Mini Mart and a voucher booklet for $500 to use is Bali which is useless because who actually has time to visit all of the shops.

When I got back to my hotel and read the points chart they gave me, I realised that for my $14,000 and $400 management fee for the next 25 years, I will only ever have enough points to pay for a 2 person hotel unit at Rama Candidasa and not the 2 bedroom villa in Seminyak that I had been promised. Also the hotels and resorts discussed at the presentation are not on the points chart and therefore not a part of deal.

IN FACT, THERE IS NOTHING IN WRITING BINDING RVC TO DO ANYTHING MORE THAN COLLECT MY MONEY.

However, perhaps there is something more in the Club Constitution which I was not given a copy of. In hindsight I acted far too hastily in signing up to this timeshare, but the credentials of the hotel and the company seemed very good. I am glad that I investigated this further, and after only one google search I found this website. I will also be cancelling my credit card, and thank god I didn’t pay any deposit today.

So now my problem is that RVC have mine and my husbands passport details and a photo of our family. Will this cause repercussions for us if we ever decide to come back to Bali? I would hate to get arrested at immigration for dishonouring my dishonourable contract?

    Can anybody help?

    Disgruntled Bali traveller.

    • Concerned Bali Traveler says:

We just got scammed. 2014! I would like to know the answers to these questions as well.

Dear Disgruntled Bali traveler, have the company contacted you at all over the past two years? Have you come back to Bali since 2012? We would like to come back here but this experience has been very stressful and we are quite nervous to come back.

      • helleva2012 says:

Hi concerned Bali traveler. Yes I did hear back a few times from RVC, and each time he emailed me I told him how disappointed I was that they were a big scam and that I would not be buying into their scam. In the end he got quite upset. I did ask him if this disagreement would get me arrested and thrown in jail when I visit Bali again, and he assured me it would not.

I’m still not really sure how it all works in Bali, but my educated guess is that Balinese govt is not going to keep a mile long list of timeshare contract defaulters and arrest them at customs. It’s not official government business so you would hope that they would not want a bar of it. Like if you bought a car, defaulted on the payments and the account went to the debt collectors – you wouldn’t expect to be arrested at customs for it. However, I have not been back to Bali since 2012.

The RVC company is owned by the Ramayana Hotel in Kuta, which blows my socks off because in comparison to the income they receive from their other revenue sources this is just a drop in the bucket so why would they be involved in such a dirty scam.

So assuming RVC does not have an arrangement with the Balinese govt, I would say it is safe to go back. Also, you didn’t actually take possession of your timeshare yet, and you haven’t used any of the services so you haven’t stolen anything or committed any crime. If you had stayed at a hotel, and then refused to make payment on your departure, then you would find yourself in jail. But this in an entirely different concept and I doubt there are any systems in place, other than abusive emails, to enforce payment – and certainly no systems in place, or authority, to enforce legal action.

Short answer, if I do go back to Bali I am 99.9% sure I will not see my family photograph on the wall at customs, and I will not be arrested. However, I will avoid Ramayana Hotel and I will avoid any damn scammers selling timeshare contracts.

Here’s an interesting read for anyone who has been engaged in the scam:

        http://forums.baliblog.com/topic/regent-vacation-club-timeshare-scam-1

And if you do go back to Bali heed the principle of ‘caveat emptor’ – buyer beware. You don’t truly know what the sellers motives are, or what they are not telling you, so protect yourself.

Bali city dwellers live for the scam, and everybody is playing the game. A tourist is just a walking sales opportunity

  16. asiikin says:

    Hi,
I had attended a presentation by RVC in January. Believe me, it was a total different experience for as compared to 4 other presentations i had attended over 8 years.

Back here in Malaysia, we were forced into signing with them, really pushy and the whole ordeal lasted more than 4 hours!

My 2nd day in Bali, me and my wife was approached when we got off the taxi in Discovery Mall, with thoughts of winning some prize, we headed to Jimbaran and attended a presentation by Royal Resorts. Same as what we were offered back in Malaysia – RCI and Ice Vacation – but surprisingly, the price was so much more higher than back home, even the maintenance fees were extremely high as compared to what was offered in Malaysia.

My 5th day in Bali, we were approached again in Kuta, just outside the Ramayana Resort. We argued about not wanting to waste our holiday time as we are not interested in any more prizes. But we were coax into it again, with assurance that it is different than Royal Resorts. We were told that the office is nearby and it will only take less than an hour. Again, me and my wife reluctantly agreed. We would end up with a 2nd week free holiday!

We headed through Discovery Mall and stopped at the back of a supermarket, my wife got worried but the man assured us that their office is located upstairs. So we proceeded and waited to be attended.

Now what surprises me is that RVC does not push us or force us into a contract. They asked me about my knowledge about Timeshare – good and bad – and explained to me why. I liked their professionalism and decided to see what they have, as compared to the other presentation I had attended.

What shocked me was, the consultant explained that the system is almost the same as what other clubs are offering, we only require to own something to be able to access the system. Therefore, we only require to own the minimum package, just to tap into the system. He asked if we would return back to Bali in the near future, we said maybe after 3 years. He asked if we prefer quiet and relaxing holidays or shopping and entertainment holidays, we said relaxing and quiet.

Based on our answers, he suggested to start of with the smallest package of 460 points with a maintenance fee of USD290 a year. (Now that is cheap! But i just kept my cool) he proceeded in explaining RCI and DAE. Showing me in real time how much does the bonus weeks cost, which again, surprises me. No other presentation I had attended uses a notebook, guess RVC have nothing to hide, truly transparent. Me and my wife got attracted to what was presented and had the interest in joining, which very much still depends on the affordability. We were shown the cost on joining and I negotiated a little, hoping to stretch the installment plan they had. To my surprised!!! The consultant told me not to join!!! He said based on my earnings, it will mean having me sacrificing on my daily expenses, and my baby will be due in about 6 months. I told him I can manage it but he just could not let me join. He even got his friends to invite us out, back to our holidays.

With friends owning vacation holidays and knowing what they have been enjoying over many years. I will return to Bali at year end, after my baby is born and after getting my bonuses, and I am going back to RVC and demand that they let me join them. I am a believer of Timeshare and have seen the kind of holidays my family and friends had done. With the cost of membership with RVC, I will not let it slip by me this time.

Hopefully, I am able to post something nice after being a member of Holiday Ownership in the near future.

    • Violet says:

Do yourself a favour and join RCI or DAE, they offer real deals for a few hundred dollars. RVC are a scam. There are no 4-5star hotels in Australia and Europe for the $400per week they advertised to us. They didn’t even show up to court.

  17. James McLennon says:

Hi, I am a member with the RVC for over 2 years now and I am very surprised to see all these posts. I have been on holiday with them 2 times now and always got what i asked. Also the bonusweeks at DAE are great. What you see online is what you get and these weeks are everywhere around the world and really cheap (AU$249,-). It is not a scam and they are part of one of the biggest companies in Bali (Ramayana group). Their sales methods are very friendly and open.
Yes there are always people that are not happy with the product they bought and Timeshare is something for you or it just isn’t. All I can say is that I am very happy with my Timeshare at RVC and what i read here is just not true.

    Kind Regards

    James McLennon

    • Thanks for your comments. Please let us know of anything you have read here which you have found untrue. DAElive is available to anyone on the internet for $59 per year. RCI is available to anyone for $89 per year. If you know of any hotels in northern europe available for $299 per week like we were told in the sales presentation please let us know because it seems like we were told lies at ours, but I would certainly like to find out differently. Perhaps they have changed the sales presentations now.

      • Violet says:

I’m not saying anything bad about rci or dae, their memberships approx $80 per year. RVC are a scam, that’s how come they didn’t show up to court when MasterCard did the inquest and we got our $5000 back.
Whoever wrote that there legit, have you tried booking a hotel in Europe like they advertised face to face in Bali at their actual on-site location? Or are you another random working for them, bennifitting from this con? Just give it up already and stop conning innocent Australians.

    • Violet says:

What part is not true, besides you of course? Are you helping to rip ppl off? We got told they were all over the world as well. Not only could they NOT produce a week in Melbourne Australia for the advertised price, but they couldn’t produce a week in Europe, and we requested anything before 2016. So either you don’t mind $12000 worth of 3rd world holidays, or you work for them. Which one is it?

Unfortunately, now being pensioners and my Husband has melanoma cancer, we cannot afford the Timeshare and looking for someone who would be interested in taking it off our hands.?We do not know the asking price rvc are asking you and prospective new customers, but reading the letters above yours it is looking like 14000us?????? If you are interested we could do a deal a lot less than 14000us? yours sincerely Maureen @ Alex Taylora

Look, I hope you enjoyed paying $12000 for the opportunity to have a nice hotel in a third world country for an extra $400. It looks like you’ve learnt how to use the Internet, go to RCI and see that their membership approx $89 per yr. And maybe before you slander and insult me, you should try book a holiday in Europe for the$399 as promised before you try selling a lye and scamming someone else. Don’t pass on your bad fortune, and insult others,at least until you’ve checked the facts. I don’t deny you can get those prices in Malaysia or Bali, but try in Australia or Europe like they’ve advertised. If they’re so honest, why didn’t they show up to court?? Lastly if you do hit the jackpot and find some poor sucker to buy your dodgy contract, don’t be surprised when they want a refund. I wish your husband the best of luck, and you go check your facts before calling me ‘rude’

  20. Violet says:

If anyone knows if this will effect any future travel to Bali, plz let me/us know

    • sagi1963 says:

My membership was cancelled a couple of weeks ago for non payment. i would assume on the basis of this that I will be able to travel there again. Does anyone else have any advice?

      • susan says:

My membership was cancelled after I cancelled my credit card. I was told I would not get refunded any money I paid out $2500 I think I got off light, as when I worked out how much a weeks holiday cost in Bali with flights cost $1270 for a weeks holiday without fights.

      • susan says:

Hi Sagi, I had my membership cancelled as well as I cancelled my credit card when I found out it was a scam and the real price you pay to have a holiday in Bali with them

      • susan says:

Sagi, I forgot I have been back to Bali without any trouble

    • Usually when we go there we get a 30 day visa on arrival. I never noticed them doing any type of background check to issue it and even if they did certainly a private party contract dispute would not flag it. If people were denied entry to any country on the basis of private party disagreements the world would look very different for any type of travelling. 🙂

  21. Keek Mensing says:

How could I have been so stupid? I just paid in AND THEN went to the internet. In this time of instant information, none of us smart people should have fallen for this! I contacted US Bank tonight, 2 1/2 days after I signed. The full amount was paid to RVC by US Bank the day I signed. I filed a complaint and was told the money, $7,000, would be refunded to my account in two days, and that US Bank would start an investigation and get back to me. I will post more when I get info. I agree that the presentation was very professional and the young kid, Drew, and the German man, Frank, treated me very well at the Ivory Hotel. Except for this little detail of lack of availability…. Dang!

    Bali Scammed

  22. JUDY-ANNE A GALWAY says:

I NEED TO PULL OUT OF THE CONTRACT I SIGNED, DUE TO SERIOUS ILL-HEALTH AND NUMEROUS OTHER FACTORS. ALAS, THE BANK WILL NOT STOP THE AUTOMATIC PAYMENTS DEDUCTIONS, BUT WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT THESE THEIVES?

    • Violet says:

Hi. Citibank mucked us around for many months b4 MasterCard stepped in, did an inquest, and when RVC didn’t show up for court, ALL our money was refunded. Our first step was to close the account. It’s a shame banks honour con artists dodgy contracts b4 their loyal paying customers. U need to email RVC requesting them to send you available holidays packages in europe or somewhere that’s not a third world country, 4-5star self contained hotel suites for $399wk like they advertised, for travel dating within the nxt cpl yrs. If they do reply with options (highly unlikely), then call those hotels and confirm the offer (highly unlikely), you need to have no doubt that they have falsely advertised, and it would be better if you had your own written proof, otherwise you could refer your bank/ MasterCard to this website and the case of ‘David Mesaros’. You need to let the banks know that you want to be refunded in full due to the scam and false advertising. If you’ve paid with a MasterCard this should be no problem. Be aware that citibank supposedly did their own inquest about us, before getting back to us 6months later and saying we owe the money with interest. This outcome was outrageous, MasterCard finally stepped in and did a proper inquest and we were eventually refunded in full. Don’t let the banks bully you, good luck

  23. J says:

As i have worked for several timeshare companies, but the reputable ones not the scams, I just wanted to at least clarify one thing. Violet does not really seem to know too much about how any timeshare works. You can not just go and join RCI or DAE for $89 per year …… that is completely incorrect. You have to have a membership (weeks or points) at a resort affiliated to the exchange company (RCI/DAE) and then you can exchange your week or points for other locations…..as a member of the exchange network you may also buy additional bonus weeks…. The scam is were the resort your membership is tied to does not exist or other misrepresentations.

    • J, you are correct in saying that to do a timeshare with RCI or DAE you cannot just go and pay $89 a year. You actually have to own something with which to timeshare. That is NOT what is offered by the Regent Vacation Club. What IS being offered is the same thing that is available to anyone in the world for $89 a year through their [RCI/DAE] website, and that is something called “Bonus Weeks”.

There is NO timeshare being exchanged here with Regent Vacation Club.

As I said, timeshares may or may not be worthwhile and it would be a bit much to paint RCI and DAE as not reputable. Our problem here is that we were told lies by Regent Vacation Club.

The “bonus weeks” thing we paid big money for truly is available to anyone for around $89 a year from RCI and DAE.

Really, I’m not kidding, you can just go to the RCI or DAE website and see for yourself.

  24. Jordan says:

RVC is a pure Cock & Bull…….they are still scamming people….today…same story happened…spent 1 1/2 hrs listening to their bullshit….and when I wanted to leave…they said I have yet to meet the 1 hr as to redeem the prizes….I think I looked stupid to believe that I won something…nevertheless, I guess I redeemed my pride by walking away without wanting their so call prize and the so called free taxi back to my hotel. The thing is, they are using those good hotels name into their benefits and scamming people through. I personally stayed in Kuta Seaview Beach hotel and it was awesome. Their claim that their “boss” owns minimart, Kuta Seaview, all those Ramas hotel. And this is bad for Bali.

For those who think there is free lunch in Bali, you can believe it, but not with RVC. We have to spread this around more. This is a total disgrace. Today, I met Richard, the American who grew up in Brooklyn and Wayne, the disgraceful Canadian. I still see Balinese walking around with those prize coupon around especially during the weekdays.

WHAT A DISGRACE!!! Bad for Bali, land of fun and relaxation.

HOW DO YOU CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP-you never get your money back!!!! Then you safe!!!!!!!

  27. Sharon Revell says:

Oh, our first day in Bali earlier this month. October 2012. Yes we also fell for the salesman ticket thing. You WON!! Wow, I get $50 now for that ticket with the gold scratchie thing. Come back to the hotel, which was actually an upstairs office.BUT, on the way I thought OMG where the hell am I going with these strangers. I wanted to get out. Felt better when I arrived and saw some Westerners. A bit concerned at the reception desk when the lady wanted to see ID. What the? I should have seen their ID. I pretended we didn’t have our passports, but showed my driver’s licence only. Knew this was going to be a boring, bull shit ”presentation’, but gee they’re GOOD…aren’t they. The presentation was over 2 hours and I also told the cute, amiable lass that she was eating into my holiday time. Then the big, burly pommy bloke tries to make a special offer to us. Put a mortgage on your house and pay only $233 per month for 2 years or whatever. What if I give you 2 Free tickets on a Scenic Tours Holiday? He actually had 2 tickets in his hand. Well, my friend and I enjoyed our free bottle of coke. Bored, yet slightly intrigued by their professional spiel and the ‘amazing’ offers…..then said…..NOT INTERESTED!! (about 60 times)
Collected the 2 free t-shirts the worthless book of vouchers and collected the free taxi back to where we started.
Sugar Coated Hard Sell……..that leaves a bitter aftertaste.

  28. Kent May says:

I thought I would post a comment here as I get questioned every now and then by people who have purchased time share from this group in Bali.I am a fraud Investigator involved in investigating cross border transactions and have been in and out of Indonesian courts for the past 7 years.

First of all there is no cooling off period on time share in Indonesia because there is no legislation on time share here.

The only way you can have trouble if you decide not to continue your payments is if the company decides to file a criminal law suit against you. This would be not in their best interest due to bad publicity – who would buy from them, if they couldn’t continue payments they would end up in the Denpasar district court in Bali court.

2nd. They can just resell your time share slot to some one else and make more money.
3rd. It would not be cost effective to file a criminal lawsuit in Bali as they can not reclaim any money that way, they would also have to file a Civil suit against you. This would cost thousands of dollars more than the would be able to sue for.

Thought I would offer some insight.

  29. Ketut Sudira says:

    Dear all,
This is good information for all of us, for all the people around the world, we need to be care full when we are on holiday. Especially holiday in Bali, as Bali is icon for Tourism of Indonesia.

Im Balinese man who is working for Tourism Industries, yes, there are a lot of TIME SHARE COMPANY/HOLIDAY CLUB/HOLIDAY OWNERSHIP in BALI such as: ROYAL (based in jimbaran) – PENINZULA (based in Nusa Dua & Jimbaran) – ABSOLUTE (based in Legian, Seminyak & Kuta) – REGENT VACATION CLUB (based in KUTA, Legian & Seminyak-IVORY RESORT & Spa)– ANANTARA VACATION CLUB (based in Legian, Seminyak & Kuta) – and etc, as they aware this kind of business can earn lot of money, they don’t care anymore about effect of TIME SHARE BUSINESS.
You guys needs to be carefully when walking on the street in BALI, especially in the central of activity such as KUTA, LEGIAN, SEMINYAK, SANUR, JIMBARAN, NUSADUA, there are a lot of people who called OPC, their duty is to “catch” people up then bring it to the “PRESENTATION OFFICE”
the way how they do it is: they will offer you some kind of card/coupon/ticket with STAR PRICE WINNER, then they will pretending to look like surprise/excited etc, they will try VERY HARD to convince you!!!!!
THIS IS FULLY OF SHIT – there are no star price winner like a Thousand Dollar Cash Money – IPAD – Blackberry etc, NEVER EVER!!!!!!!! One thing is for sure you won from your card is: T-Shirt (fuck’n cheap T-shirt) or HOLIDAY VOUCHER/PREMIERCARD-you never can use this voucher ever (fuck’n useless) or DISCOUNT VOUCHER-you have to spend a lot of money to get the discount!!!!!
ONCE YOU JOIN THE PRESENTATION, you have to spend at least 1HOUR of your holiday time (if you are lucky can get out from their office if not than you have to spend 3-5HOURS there) and in the end of time they will ask you to join with their Company as a MEMBER, (PLEASE PREVIEW COMPLAIN MEMBER ABOVE)
ONCE YOU JOIN AS A MEMBER (as they got your money)-they will make you hard to use your membership, can u imagine 1room need to be shared to thousands member???? Trust me, I know timeshare very well. In presentation they will said all/half the rooms from their hotel is for member only-THIS IS BULLSHIT. other thing is you have to pay MAINTENANCE FEE EVERY YEARS (going up every single year) Now you can calculate how much money did you spend for your MEMBERSHIP??? Why you don’t just booked a Hotel from Travel Agent or Booking online???? PLEASE THINK ABOUT IT

HOW DO YOU CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP-you never get your money back!!!! But good news for you if you did not pay full cash, normally they will deduct your monthly installment from your Credit Card Details (even you say NO and you want to cancel it)-always, the one thing you can do is GO TO YOUR BANK ACCOUNT-BLOCK YOUR CREDIT CARD-DEACTIVATED YOUR CREDIT CARD ACCOUNT. Then you safe!!!!!!!

Well guys…. This kind of situation who make our TOURISM INDUSTRIES DOWN/BROKE in BALI (so many people afraid to come to Bali coz of this) Please save us, TOURISM in Bali suppose to be a very good condition!!! Coz Bali is icon for Tourism of Indonesia in The World.

PLEASE…PLEASE…PLEASE… Share this information to your friends, families where ever they are, Australia, America, wherever!!!!!! Save BALI!!! Save us!!! Save our kids!!! Make BALI CLEAR & CLEAN from TIME SHARE COMPANY/HOLIDAY CLUB/HOLIDAY OWNERSHIP.

Maybe, if you or your government able to issue TRAVEL WARNING FOR TIMESHARE IN BALI will be good for people in BALI!!!!

    Thank you.

  31. Eric A McKenzie says:

    Eric A McKenzie
Ex Sales Director- Regent Vacation Club.
    Contact: ericmckenzie44@gmail.com

I will now offer some honest advice, and if you do not heed my advice, you have only yourself to blame.

I have been in the Timeshare Industry for 25 years, and worked for some of the most prestigious companies on the planet, and have many tens of thousands of satisfied customers.

In August last year I was approached by Regent Vacation Club, to take over their operation and, make it into a conventional Timeshare operation, with the Ramayana Corporation as the owning company behind it, (Ramayana Hotel, Rama Beach, Kuta Sea View, Pondok Sari, Flapjacks, Rosso Vivo and with other well known brands in Bali, I believed this company to be honest, this I have found out is the furthest from the truth hence my resignation on Boxing Day 2012.

This company operates a policy to steal deposits; it actively wants people to cancel so it can steal their money, I in all my years have never experienced this and it has sickened me to the core.

In ten years this company only has 1200 members, 120 members a year, less than 10 a month, any conventional company would have 120 members a month, the reason being it WANTS PEOPLE TO CANCEL TO STEAL THEIR MONEY.

It sells a small amount of points that only allows its members to holiday back in Bali in a small 6 week window, in the lowest season that is in Bali.

I Have actively sat down with their PATHETIC Business Development Manager “The German Weasel” Thomas Wiese, the instigator of this theft system, if you put his name into http://www.linkedin.com you will see his history in Timeshare it is a fabrication, he has been equally poor at all previous postings, They refuse to join the global governing body ARDA, and follow their rules of conduct.

The final straw for me when the Company “Regent Vacation Club” was sold to a British Virgin Isles Company, with the Travel agent arm of the Ramayana Corporation being the companies sole agent in Indonesia, places it in a country where is absolutely no consumer protection.
They now intend to offer finance from a Singaporean Company they have set up to steal even more money…………..The highest level of deceit I have ever seen in all of my 25 years.

To this end I have now decided to help members who have either paid a deposit or in full or are part way through a payment plan to get ALL THEIR MONEY BACK IN FULL, to this end I have already successfully had over 200,000 USD refunded to clients.

I require all of the following information:-

    1. Date of Purchase
    2. Total Purchase Price
    3. Contract Number
    4. Amount of Deposit paid (and on which card)
    5. Payment plan
    6. Points allocated
    7. First year of occupancy
    8. Total money paid to date.
    9. Any verbal promises made to you (this is the least important)

Citibank know me well, they are aware of my position, and are aware that I am in possession in so much damning material, that a letter sent from me will suffice.

I am in the process of setting up a full CLASS ACTION SUIT against Citibank, and need another 100 members to come forward, so I ask you all please copy and paste this post everywhere, Perth Face book, consumer sites, newspapers everywhere, and tell all your friends to re-post, I want to make this viral all over Australia

I must apologize, the comments on the site from the following people are fictitious and are from members of my old staff, and one previous to my tenure, please forgive me this error of judgment:-

    • LILY
    • ABU ALI
    • JAMES MCLENNON
    • MAUREEN TAYLOR

With your help I will bring this company to its knees

    Kind Regards

    • maureen taylor says:

I ,Maureen Taylor, trust that I am the ””’one previous to tenure”””’ as all my information supplied was all genuine. As my Husband was suffering greatly with Melanoma Cancer and died 25th October, I surrendered our timeshare back to RVC as we knew the chance of a holiday would not happen and we could not afford to pay the maintenance fee, especially now, as I am on a single pension. As I pointed out to RVC and confirms the lucarative outcome for them. Our 9000 dollar room which can be re sold and re let……………….However, if we had n ot got involved we would not have had the holiday in Phuket and The sunway lagoon resort Indonesia…..and n ow they are my memories of my Husband………………….

We Professionals in the Industry believe in offering great service, a great product, but would never stoop so low as to create a sales system that does no more than steal innocent peoples deposits.

You alone are the one who allows this theft to continue, the one that has thrown all religious beliefs behind him in the search of more money, as tourists deposits mount up considerably, it has helped you refurbish resorts and buy more land…..

I hope when you seek solace with your maker you have a good excuse ready, as to why you allowed that Man “Thomas “the weasel” Wiese” to turn you into stealer of innocent tourists deposits.

      Hi Eric
i dont think i quite understand – you dont charge a fee for your services, but you charge a 20% commission on the funds that are paid back? For me thats about $AUD350. Sounds like you will also be making a bit of money from this exercise. Are these fees to assist in the court case or to compensate you for your time (im speaking as a public servant with a level of knowledge of accountability and governance). I have sent you an email and have yet to hear from you. My request was genuine – I would appreciate a response.

My apologies sagi 123, I ommitted to answer one of your questions, the 20% cost is 2 fold, approx 6% will cover all my barrister fees and court costs in Australia and Singapore and my solicitor in Bali, the addittional 14 % is indeed my compensation.

I have to lodge a claim in Bali against Regent Vacation Club, I have to at the same time issue proceedings against CITIBANK in Singapore, then on behalf of the members issue a writ in Australia,, maybe its my ex military background coming out, but this will be a 3 frontal attack

To all ex Regent and existing Regent customers, please allow me to offer you all an apology on some of my previous posts.

On re-reading my posts, I have been somewhat churlish in my criticism of Thomas Wiese, I can assure you that is not my normal behavior, and Promise you all a totally professional and cool headed approach in my actions against Regent and all my further posts.

My plan is two fold, I will be issuing a law suit in Bali directed squarely at RVC, at the same time I will be issuing a law suit at one particular Court in Australia against Citi Bank. I have chosen the particular court as it is the only court in the world that has successfully upheld a claim and forced CitiBank into giving an immediate 100% refund, so the precedent has been set.

I am quite positive that RVC will not pay anyone at this stage, but I am more than 100% confident that CitiBank will have to pay all money back plus costs and interest they have charged people on their cards, this will run into many hundreds of thousands if not millions, and the adverse publicity when this goes totally viral, will be so damaging for them.

After they have settled the court case, they themselves will seek restitution off RVC, and I am confident at that stage they will cancel the merchant facility.

On RVC attempting to obtain a new merchant facility they have to disclose all information pertaining to a withdrawn merchant facility and there is no bank on the Planet that will allow themselves to be put in the same position.

After speaking to many of you, who have repeated a very similar story, where CitiBank have been a cold hearted company and had one set statement “your signatures are on a legally binding contract” and there is nothing we can do, well let me assure you this is nonsense.thats why i need numbers, please repost this post, on Facebook, every viral network you can, and I prose you we will win.

  65. Dear RegentVacationClubscam blog participants: You may have noticed a number of posts by Eric McKenzie (emc4444). Eric had posted regarding his intentions of proceeding with a lawsuit to help return money we paid to RVC.

Eric has previously posted that he charges no money upfront and will charge a 20% fee taken out of recovered money. However, he sent me a complicated legalese contract that in the fine print requires a prepayment fee to him of 10% of what I originally paid RVC.

Please understand that if you sign a contract with Eric and give him your credit card number, he is planning on putting a charge on your card equivalent to 10% of what you originally paid RVC. There is no guarantee any money will be recovered by signing with him. I do not plan on doing this but welcome follow up comments on this topic.

    • emc4444 says:

      Hello everyone, Eric here
All participants . PLEASE BE AWARE I do not ask for card details, all monies are paid by bank transfer, If you cannot afford to pay the 10% then simple do not pay, there is also another option, option 2, and that is not to pay any upfront fees at all and pay a 65% charge of the recovered funds… So if you are on hand times 35% is better than none, is it not?

AND TO STRESS STEVEN, AND PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS, OR DO I NEED TO PLACE THE CONTRACT HERE…DID I EVER REQUEST CREDIT CARD DETAILS? THE ANSWER IS NO….SO PLEASE STOP LYING,

You have an opportunity of making over 2,000 dollars back, but if you are happy to loose it all, and an old saying we have in England, “bite off your nose to spite your face” then you deserved nothing else than you received from Regent…and to clarify all my test cases last week were ordered a full refund from the merchant facilities. So Steven, stop this nonsense please.

I have explained to you that via this blog you have unwittingly allowed Regent to steal deposits, as soon as people have read this blog they cancelled, and by doing so forfeited their deposits.

So if you actually want to talk legalize you have helped Regent Vacation Club, retain deposits…does that make you culpable? I suggest you talk to your solicitor, all of this I have explained to you in great detail.
If it was not for this blog, Regent would not have Stolen over $4,865,000 (AUD) in deposits…. So before you start claiming the high ground you have a part to play in this.

All 700+ participants have my email address if you need to contact me directly.

      Kind Regards

      Eric Anthony McKenzie

      • Eric,
I wish you the best of luck in returning money to people on this website. I hope it works. Anyone who has signed up with Eric, I hope it works out for you, please keep us informed.

As far as your question Eric … “did I ever request credit card details?” … actually yes, you did ask for my credit card statement. But even if you did not the point is irrelevant. Once I sign a legal contract agreeing to pay you a certain amount of money I am legally obligated to pay it in some form.

I am glad to hear you have had test cases who were ordered a full refund. Please feel free to post any further information or documentation about that. Also, please feel free to post the contract here.

As far as suggesting that this blog is to blame for Regent stealing $4,865,000 (AUD) in deposits… if you read the blog carefully you may notice that its purpose is to warn people before they sign with RVC. It is to provide a resource that I wish I had when I first encountered RVC.
For people that have already signed before visiting this blog … their deposits are already gone unless they have been able to put a stop on the credit card payment… at least it may save them from having even more money lost.

    Steven
Morning, unless people had a premonition that they were to be accosted in the street prior to their arrival in Bali, and subsequently buy timeshare, why would they google Regent Vacation Club?
It is only after purchase that they would Google the company name, to validate their decision to purchase.
As my comment to you yesterday:- “have your website been helpful?”
Yes….. but has been a double edged sword, you have without knowledge cemented enough doubt and fear in them they had no option but to cancel, which in turn has allowed RVC to keep millions in deposits for breach of contract, on the over hand you have also stopped people paying their balance which in turn has cost RVC, many millions more, but by loosing their deposits all it has cost RVC are pieces of paper (which the contract is written on) a very cheap blue folder and a cheap plastic bag, and to give no product or affiliation to any exchange company. (no other cost)
I know from personal experience that RVC prefer to have a cancelled client than a fully paid up member.
Only 1200 clients in ten years over 5000 cancelled clients in the same period, an AVERAGE deposit of $3500 (AUD) we can all do the maths. It is this money that has allowed them to become one of the biggest landowners in Bali, not bad eh?
This money has also helped expand their Mini Mart and Pepito business, and Steven I know you were only trying to help and offer advice, you have inadvertently cost people millions.

Why do you want people to not get their money back?
Why not except the 65% payment after completion? (this point makes no sense)
Why be happy for these rogues to keep all your money? (this equally makes no sense)
Are you Regent Vacation Club? (this actually makes sense)

On reading your comments it does make me wonder has this site and this blog really been written by “Steven” or is this RVC? As it has worked enormously in their favor.

It is this site that has helped RVC steal close to 5,000,000 (AUD), since it was launched, who has benefitted the most?

And the point on my fee is not mute, never once did I ask for payment by credit card, only ever by Telegraphic Transfer, a point you still did not respond to.

I would love to hear all readers comments.

    Kind Regards

    Eric Anthony McKenzie

  67. emc4444 says:

I see you are from LA Steven, are you aware that Regent have businesses over there? I am, it gets more surprising by the minute.

  68. Hi Eric,

You asked, “unless people had a premonition that they were to be accosted in the street prior to their arrival in Bali, and subsequently buy timeshare, why would they google Regent Vacation Club?
It is only after purchase that they would Google the company name, to validate their decision to purchase.”
When I was there [Bali] I received the ticket saying I won [ 1 of 5 possible gifts] and made an appointment for the next day to go pick up the t-shirt I had won. I had a full day to google Regent Vacation Club and at the time could find no information about it. After a good bit of investigation I thought it best to put up this website to warn others. As you can see in the comments section here there are some people that seem happy with their RVC membership … others are not. The main selling point at the presentation I went to was with DAElive.com and RCI and the whole bonus week thing which I later found out that anyone can get from the DAElive.com website for $59 a year, or the RCI website for $89 rather than paying thousands of dollars to Regent Vacation Club. So why pay $7000 dollars upfront and $400 a year maintenance fee to RVC for something you can get for $148 a year from DAE/RCI directly? Maybe some people find the point system and one or two weeks a year hotel from RVC worthwhile. I don’t.

Has this website turned out to be a benefit to RVC? I hope not but by presenting the truth as I see it that is the best I know how to do.

Am I part of Regent Vacation Club? No. I’m just someone that got scammed by them.

You asked, “Why do you want people to not get their money back?” —- I very much want people to get their money back and I have been hoping you are going to help people in this effort.

You asked, “Why not except the 65% payment after completion? (this point makes no sense)”
    — 65% seems a little bit steep to me, especially when you are presenting a contract that would require me to hire a lawyer just to figure out what I’m actually signing. I’m not saying others should not do it.
So far from what you have presented here, if you were to be representing me in court I would be worried. You say one thing, then change that, then say something else, then present a contract to everyone else saying something else entirely, then come on this board and start insulting anyone who asks a question about it…” you’re not giving me a lot of confidence in your ability to win this case so far.

Eric, in another post you said:  “all my test cases last week were ordered a full refund from the merchant facilities.” — this seems like very good news. Could you please provide some documentation on this. This is very important. If you could just post the actual court ruling I think this would give all of us here more confidence in you and what you are offering.

    Steven

  69. emc4444 says:

    Hello All,
All parties who are involved have all the information required, I am not a free service. My first clients were free at my own expense, to prove a point that the information I had was correct, and it was, and total refunds have been given, so I fulfilled my promise to be free, then I posted that a change had occurred and I will charging for my service, no one is forced to join me.

Is 65% steep? No, not when you are in a position of loosing 100%, why loose 7000, when you can get back 2450?

You have already lost 7,000, I am guaranteeing you 2450 for no up front cost, so what exactly is your problem?

Any one out there disagree, that 2450 is better than nothing?
I bet not……. you have been offered a win win situation for no cost, so if you are real, which I know very much doubt, come on board.

it is quite concerning why you seam hell bent on people not joining this action, is this because you are in the pay of RVC?

For your information 19 more people joined today, based on your posts, so thank you, and 13 paid the 10% fee and the other 6 opted for the 65% OPTION, as something is always better than nothing, but you would seam to be THE ONLY PERSON in the world that disagrees with that, and if your call that being insulting, I pity you, never once have I been insulting to you Mr Steven [last name removed].

I am know sure you are in league with the rogues RVC, I am sure you remember my initial skepticism, when I got your initial email from a hotmail account? How I questioned your validity, as of today you have never sent me a signed contract between you and Regent? Why is that? There is no credit card information on the contract.

We can carry on this ping pong as long as you want Steven, and please do not take this the wrong way, I have had over 100 emails of support today from my clients equally as bewildered as me, as to why you seam hell bent on getting no deposit back, and not take the option when you at least get 2450 back, we are all BEWILDERED, no upfront cost, no risk, no credit card information required, just a copy of your original contract, but none of these have been forthcoming, IT MAKES NO SENSE…….We would love you to explain, instead of trying to get people not to join my action, very similar as to how your post has stopped people paying balances, making RVC very rich by stealing people deposits.

I hope Regent paid you well, and looking at all your sites today, I hope you are happy with your actions, if anyone wants to speak to Steven directly please email me and I will forward you his email which you can search in Google and find out all about Mr Steven [last name removed].

    Kind Regards

    Eric Anthony McKenzie

*****Editor note: This is the post Eric complained was deleted. I removed last names and have now put it up.

  70. Eric, I had to delete your last post because I found it disrespectful and as you may have noticed most of the commenters here are anonymous and I would like to keep things that way unless someone prefers to use their full name.

Also you may note, I have said I think it is great you are trying to get people’s money back. You have said you have already got money back for some and when I asked you to share some shred of evidence about this you come back with insults.

Let me be clear here… I am not telling anyone to steer clear of Eric. I am hoping he is doing good work and please anyone finding out he is helping, feel free to report it here and keep us updated.

  71. emc4444 says:

delete the truth, you are a fraud Steven, by deleting my thread it proves you work for REGENT, Fraud

    • This is what I mean Eric, every time I ask you for some evidence that you have got refunds for people you come back with insults. Now you first appeared on this website Jan 10, 2013 saying you are planning on taking RVC to court and could get money refunded. Then on Feb. 6 you wrote…”and to clarify all my test cases last week were ordered a full refund from the merchant facilities.”
Knowing how slow court cases are… to find out you got these cases through the court and refunds issued in less that 3 weeks sounds surprising to say the least. Every time I ask you to provide some kind of evidence that you did this you come back with insults saying that I must be working for RVC to question you in this way.

There are some things that are not adding up about you Eric. You are asking people to trust that you are not here lying and planning on taking everyone’s 10% and disappearing… but are unwilling to provide any evidence that you actually got anyone any money back.

Also, as recently a four days ago you put up a youtube video [using your other alias] saying you will get anyone’s money back from RVC for free at the same time telling us here that there is a considerable charge… [astronomical charge of 65% actually].

Eric, did you ever consider that you might lose this case? If you do lose the case in court, you walk away with everyone’s 10% and everyone else is left with nothing. If your arguments in court turns out to be anything like your ability to present evidence and a sensible argument on this message board there is basically no hope at all.

Again I ask you… show us some evidence you have got a court ruling and money returned to people as you have said. Tell us a court … a ruling number … the judge’s written opinion … anything. We’re all waiting to hear.

  72. emc4444 says:

I will not respond on here any more every time i place a thread you delete you are a fraud, an open forum is not open, that every time i place information on here you delete, this will be my last post on here as you will delete this as well…everyone has my email…something fishy if you place a post and it gets deleted

    • Eric,
I removed one of your posts because it violated the terms of the message board about posting personal names and addresses, but since you seem to think it contained so much information I removed last names and put it up.

Any one reading it will notice it does not present any information that you ever got anyone any money back as you have claimed.

Warning-Warning.   DO NOT DEAL WITH ERIC McKENZIE. This is not an open forum.  The administrators have total control of the content you see here.  I am posting late at night hoping that a few of few will see and post to your friends.

I have been working in the Vacation Ownership industry for over 20 years.  I worked with Eric McKenzie at A competitor here in Bali until we fired him due to his arrogance and his compulsive lying.   Eric then worked for Absolute Resorts here in Bali for about 3 weeks until he tried to change and rewrite the entire system.   After he was fired from Absolute Resorts Bali he was hired by RVC, Regent.   Eric was fired again Dec.26th because he broke a sales person’s leg in 2 places at a Christmas party on Dec. 24th.   These are all facts and the evidence is with Bali police who will arrest Eric McKenzie the moment he lands in Bali.

These class action suits have been launched by several different legal and non-legal agencies in this industry all over the world.  The only person that wins is the individual that signs up all clients that he has convinced they have been taken advantage of.  Eric will only make money off the people who pay up front the 10%.  That is why the higher 65% option is there.  It makes owners feel like its worth the gamble to believe it will work.  You have been warned.  DO NOT SIGN ANY DOCUMENT WITH ERIC McKENZIE.

  75. Mr. Truth:
Thanks for your post, it has a ring of truth. Eric McKenzie has presented lie after lie on this message board and if ever questioned starts insulting verbal attacks. He could not argue his way out of a paper bag let alone win a case in court. After announcing his services were free he tried to get me to sign a sleazy contract with a 10% up front fee buried in it that he never mentioned before.

I don’t know him but I would not trust him to keep his word about anything, let alone trust him with money.

  76. emc4444 says:

Silly man……and everyone will be pleased to know, 90% of the salesforce has left, so their ability to scam has ben halted, no new staff will ever work for them again, so we have cut the head off the dragon, that has stolen off so many people for so long

I do expect this to be deleted……..WE WON, NO ONE ELSE WILL BE SCAMMED BY THIS DODGY BENT BALINESE THIEFS, WITH THEIR GAY GERMAN OPERATIONS DIRECTOR, THE INSTIGATOR OF THIS HUGE FRAUD

  77. Mr. Truth,
This is an open forum. I allow all comments to go up unless they use profanity or in some other way violate general terms of the blog. I consider Regent Vacation Club a scam but have allowed contrary opinions.
I am the sole owner of this blog. Eric [emc4444] emailed me at one point and asked for the passwords for administrative control of this website supposedly for two hours. Had I been so gullible as to give them over to him I have no doubt I would have lost control of this blog to him.

The fact that he tried to do this pretty much indicates he is a scammer, in my opinion.

Anyone is allowed to express contrary opinions or provide evidence that Eric is doing something positive, or any opinion about RVC in general. So far I have not gotten anything positive about Eric or from him other than we are in agreement that Regent Vacation Club is a scam. Let’s hope he is right that it is going out of business.

Previously the default setting on the blog required comments to be approved. This was done in order to keep spam off the message board. I have changed the settings now so anyone’s comments go up immediately so the message board will feel more open.

    • HI Zan,
please be advised that the contract is not legal and binding under the laws of Australia . You do not have to keep paying R.V.C. AS FAR AS GETTING YOUR MONEY BACK YOU ALREADY PAID…SORRY TO INFORM YOU THAT AS YOU ARE SO FAR IN THAT WOULD BE VERY HARD TO DO.So best cut your losses and stop paying they can not chase you IN Australia .

Hi Adam. Is this RVC ‘evil’ contract legal and binding under the laws of NZ? I want to cancel. I don’t want to have anything to do at all with them again. I want to have a ‘clean’ cancellation from them to avoid hassle in the future. Any advice? Thank you for your time.

    • Zan,
Since you paid in 2009 there is little chance of getting your original payment back.

Generally credit card companies will not allow charge backs after 6 months. Regarding your ongoing installment fees of $310 US … probably the easiest route is to tell RVC you are cancelling your membership and will pay nothing more. If they do charge your credit card again contact your credit card company and have the charge contested immediately. They will remove the charge.

This website is not about attacking Eric mckenzie, its for all who have been scammed. Fight it. Let your credit card agencies take them to court. Most people pay insurance on their credit cards or it’s combined in your annual fee, go to your bank and demand they do their job. They fob u off but keep pushing. Thats what i had to do to get my $5000aud back. I’ve heard
RVC has offered $ for this website, so it’s
obviously doing some good. We’v all gotten upset about being scammed, I thank Adam chapplin and Eric m for at the very least promoting awareness. We all detest RVC and it’s crooked owners, let’s not turn on each other

    • Dear Violet
trust you are safe and well.Once again great post power to you.If any client of R.V.C would like a hand as ever i e tend my hand of friendship for free…
      Kindest regards Adam

Hi Violet, we’ve just been sucked into this scam ourelves – got aproached right outside the entrance to our villa on our first morning in Bali and whisked away in a taxi straight to the smooth taling sales reps at the Ivory Villas in Semanyak. Unfortunately, we’ve made the ultimate mistake of paying for 10 years up front (nearly $8000). Only afterwards have we now seen these blogs with all the horror stories from other victims.

Havinbg read your story, our hope is that since we paid through our credit card, we may have some protection – like you did. We would appreciate it so much if you could let us know how you managed to get your bank to ultimately accept that this is a scam and to act to get your money back.

We are on our honeymoon and this whole thing has pretty much destroyed it for us. Nothing can get that back, but if we can at least minimise the financial loss it will be some comfort.

Thank you for any advise that you can provide.

      Asu and Alan

I’m really sorry to hear this. Did u call the bank within 3days? Are you linked to MasterCard or visa? Citibanks legal team investigated & told us we’d lost the $, that was unacceptable to me. Citibank forwarded the saga to MasterCard, who took RVC to court with emails from us (proven correspondence) asking RVC to send us a holiday deal, any offer in any European country, for travel over any period in the next 6yrs……n they couldn’t do it. Only response was ‘contract is legally binding’ n clauses stating ‘no funds will be returned’. Surprise,surprise…..RVC did not turn up for court, & MasterCard informed Citibank to pay us back in full $5000aud. It took just less than a yr I think for all of this to happen. I think ppl thought if they kept fobbing me off I’d go away. Don’t take no for an answer. The banks also need to take some responsibility. How many complaints do they let slide…..n they still have not ban money from going into these con artists accounts!!! We are both legitimate successful business owners n we too got scammed…..so don’t feel dumb. Their great at what they do

  80. Geoff G Sth Oz says:

Have informed RVC that we want nothing more to do with them. Their latest invoice has changed and now includes a separate $50 RVC fee on top of our Maintenance Fees. As far as we are concerned, RVC has changed the contract (Twice if you count the change to “points”). There has been NO benefit – our “points” now do NOT convert to a week’s holiday. It has been incredibly difficult to exchange to stay at other resorts.

    • CLine says:

I have a similar situation. I want to get out but they said the contract is legally binding and final. I agree that there has been NO benefit AT ALL. They continuously increase the points to stay in the resorts and so our points hardly cover a week holiday too. This is not what they ‘promised’ at the time of purchase. Do you finally managed to get out from them? Thanks for your time.

    Hello all
sorry its been so long… things are progressing….to clear the air…i had taken over 260,000 AUD in deposits (i refunded some money back before the case as clients were put off by the negative comments on this site, I can only say “I TOLD YOU SO”), off clients….will anyone of those clients who have not received written documentation from the courts that a refund has been agreed by the Merchant Service as stated, please leave a negative comment.. Friday we won our case… copies of this have now gone out to all UPFRONT PAYING clients….I was tempted to work for free….What did all you doubter say “prove it prove it” do all the work for free then we pay, life just is not like that…I would love you all to go to a restaurant order the most expensive item on the menu and say if I DO not like it I am not paying, Go to a car dealer tell him you want to use a car for 3 months before you decide to buy….I tried to help but people understandingly due to them being duped before they were scared and cautious rightly so, but to be as rude as you were, the ones who were to smart to clever to follow me hard luck…….. some of you just damn right rude and obnoxious, but thats the sort of people you are, maybe those are the sort of people that deserved to get conned.

Why do people think I have to tell them what i am doing how? How i understand timeshare law inside out….you were all too clever….not to clever to be conned were you?

I congratulate all of those who decided to back me and follow me…the case was not the success I had hoped for, an out of court settlement was reached for 80% of all the fees paid. I have taken that into account and have refunded the proportionate amount back to each client, I wanted to ensure that these funds had hit all my clients bank accounts before I publicly declared victory…no one could turn round and say I have breached my original terms…..

Once again every one well done, The Scammers have lost, but they are still stealing money.

I once again ask if anyone of my clients is not 100% satisfied with the outcome please post…

But lets not remember there are people still today being scammed let the world now…stand up and fight…Trust me it works.

I will now retire from this sight…reading the comments on her are truly depressing… if anyone wants to email me direct they can, but be aware i have now closed the door on this chapter of my life, and will not be pursuing any more legal cases…God Bless you all (even you rude ones) you had to take your anger out on someone….i forgive you all..

Eric, all I can say is ‘keep taking your tablets!’

    • HeScammedMeToo says:

Wow eric, (or should i say Mr Potato Head). congratulations on winning the court case. How was it that you didn’t need to be in Bali for the trail? As I know you were not?!? You left ages ago on the run for hospitalising several people i know. You are a sewer rat.

      • emc4444 says:

Well what can I say Frank, and Thomas, i am so glad you both came out, you know the old saying stick and stones……..quite petty and childish, but i do not expect any less from you two Germans…..how the sales going by the way7,,,,not to good i hear…..so pleased to hear it

      • HeScammedMeToo says:

Come on Mr Potato Head, before you extort cash from victims of this so called scam, to now defend them in the highest court in Bali, shouldn’t they at least know you had a Lobotomy? It’s a game changer for sure!

PS. Jokes aside, you must agree you really do look like a potato? The same color and everything. Probably a similar mental capacity too.

      • emc4444 says:

Well to say I am shocked at the last comments is an understatement, Racist and Intolerant, my deceased father was from the Caribbean.

So the Boss Thomas “the weasel” Wiesse who is working in Bali, working with Indonesians and being Racist, well that says it all about this company.

Bali…….what has this place become?, 15 year old girls getting raped at knife point in their holiday villas, innocent tourists get stabbed in Kuta, It is dirty, expensive, and tourists are deserting it in droves, hence the sharp rise in crime, why are they leaving? The reasons above and the traffic off course.

Why I know this is one of the loved up Germans, is because I wrote to Thomas the weasel Wiesse, and explained to him my plan of action, and by using the word extort money from people proves he is trying to sully the waters, (and still not one bad post from all the people I helped) I suppose you could use another false email Tom and pretend.

Myself and Adam have now arranged contracts with resales companies and timeshare termination companies and are now able to offer anybody, existing or sorry to say in the process of buying the Regent Points Garbage (look at your points charts, you have only enough points to holiday in the 6 week low season in Bali, for exchange purposes you have no trading power)… We have Boni Fide Timeshare WEEKS (NOT POINTS) 1 bedroom – 3 bedroom all for under 1000 USD,, you choose the resort you want we will check availability for you, if there you can have it, if not we will offer you an alternative for you to mull over……My advice instead of paying next years maintenance to this bunch of racist thieves, you surrender your useless points, and use that money to purchase a product that works for you……No more dealing with customer service, you all know who I mean L*****, I will not be mean enough to put your name there, but on speaking to Regent Clients as I do all the time, your name constantly comes up as one of their biggest bug bears.

One Final bit of advice, check out either or all of the UK, Australian, French, German, American, Irish, New Zealand, Canadian Government Websites or any you wish to, Bali is now deemed not to be safe, and has now been rated as High Terrorism Threat, not my words the Embassy’s.

So if you are happy dealing with a RACIST company, you can read their own words, and trust me on this ONLY Thomas was aware of my plans, as I had the good decency to tell him, so your choice, keep on paying these vile, racist thieves, or own with a company that will respect you.

And one more note, I had a malignant brain tumor, had many months of Chemo but I am OK now, that’s the people, your dealing with, your choice!!!!!, is it funny, is it amusing, they seam to think so, lets not hope they ever get Cancer, but you know what they say, Karma is a Bitch

SO “hescammedmetoo” or Thomas anything else, you want to say you vile racist man?

  83. Plain jane says:

Hie, it DOESN’T STOP after you paid the full subscription. You have then to fork up the money for the annual maintenance which increases almost every year. Even that I kept quiet. But what pissed me MOST is that they sent me a WARNING to pay up through email and slapped me with a 10% penalty on my maintenance fees for late pay up. I told them that I did not receive any instruction from them to pay previously and ask them to deduct my credit card for only the maintenance without the penalty. Little did I know that they HAD THE AUDICITY to deduct also the penalty. Later when I complained, I found out that they send the mails to my house address and not postal address. When I checked back my registration form for RCI, it was clearly spelt out my mailing address. When pointed out to them, Mike Zuna told me that the RCI registration form details filled up by them is only applicable for RCI and not RVC. That is why they are still CORRECT IN SENDING THE INVOICE TO THE WRONG ADDRESS.. Now isn’t that mind boggling? Why can’t they just apologise for their mistake when I told them that I did not want to take up the matter to refund back the money but just to ensure that things like this don’t happen in the future? My advise to others is to email to them at the end of the year for the invoice so that you can pay up…

  84. I don’t know if it’s just me or if perhaps everyone else experiencing problems with your website.
It appears as though some of the written text on
your posts are running off the screen. Can somebody
else please comment and let me know if this is happening to them too?
This could be a problem with my browser because I’ve had this happen previously. Thanks

  85. N says:

We were signed up in 2008 and emails are still being sent now asking for the maintenance fee to be paid. When I asked for a copy of the constitution, it was ignored, and when I asked how we cancel, I received the same “legally binding contract” response.
That being said, I don’t think they have any actual way of enforcing this payment and I have just ignored their emails and contact.
I was sure that it was a 5 year contract, but after being unable to get any type of booking, and the shady nature and feeling, I refuse to pay another cent (I did change my credit card number).
Hopefully this doesn’t come back to bite me.
Any other feedback or comments/experience would be great. Cheers

    • parvin kumar says:

well, is there any possibility of them to produce an arrest warrant if you were to go back to indonesia sometime in the future? as its legally binding in indonesia, they can only take action if you are in indonesia. i have a friend from malaysia who signed up but decided to cancel it for some reason.

  86. xear818 says:

This is a private party contract dispute. No one ever gets arrested for such things. If you sell a table to your neighbor and he signs a legally binding contract to pay for it and does not [due to the fact it was not really a table], does he get arrested if he tries to re-enter your country? Of course not. That would be ridiculous. If governments started arresting people over private party contract dispute claims, there would be no tourism in the whole world.

    • CLine says:

Hi xear818. It is a relief to read your comment. I agree with majority that this RVC is a total scam. I was under ‘smart’ intimidation when signing the contract. And I was so in a rush to catch plane back, so I was not thinking straight when signing the contract. I wanted to cancel but they said “the membership agreement is legally final and binding; it can neither be cancelled nor rescinded and that all monies paid are non-refundable.” I just want to get out, I don’t care about the money that I have paid. If anyone has a good advice how to get out (cancel my membership) from this evil ‘timeshare’, please kindly shed some light. Also, is it for certain, from a legal point of view, that I will not have problem with the immigration when entering Indonesia in the future? Many thanks.

      • xear818 says:

You do not have to cancel the contract. You can simply stop paying due to faulty service. If they want to then cancel it, it is up to them. If they want to continue to provide their services even though you have not paid they are allowed to do that.

As far as being stopped at the border that is simply ridiculous but if you don’t believe me call up any lawyer… most of them would answer that question for free.

      • You can stop at any time sure..as for not getting into Bali or having a problem…just another lie from Mr Thomas…the Clubs maxim is ( Never let the truth get in the way of a good story)

My boyfriend and I naively signed on last week to RVC. We really thought we were clever and didnt think it was a scam, it now looks like we have also been taken for fools.

We have only paid $1300 so far, next payment is due in two weeks.

Can I please have advice as how we get out of this and if we cancel payments, can we still re-enter Bali at another date without hassle?

    Thanks,

    Amy

If someone buys a surf board from you and doesn’t pay for it since it was damaged and not as advertised, are they prevented from coming back in the country? Of course not, don’t be ridiculous. Same here.

    Hello Admin of this site,
I hope somebody can kindly help us with explanation or etc.
My husband and I (im indonesian and he is Dutch) now we both live in NL,Europe, have been trapped with RVC also during our honeymoon air @January 2012. My husband has pay around 5000 Euro to them via debit card (Cirrus) used his ATM card (not a credit card) in their debit machine (in their office in Bali). 5000 euro is for 2022. Now we decided to stop pay to them since we more realize how scam they are (RVC) . But 2013 January we already done some transfer point to RCI, and we dont mind with using RCI. And now RVC keep coming via email to ask us to pay them. Even they sent penalty email or something like that. My questions are:

    1. Can we get our money back since it has been paid via our Bank account (not a credit Card) ?
    2. If we want to continue our agreement with RCI should we pay RVC first?
    3. If we dont want to pay RVC should we lost our point by RCI that we already pay last year?
    4. Since I am still Indonesian citizen, can RVC sue me because I dont want to pay more (my name was also on the contract).
Thank you very much in prior for any assistance/ explanations.

    Greetings,
